Ever since I had to put one of my cats to sleep, the remaining cat has started waking me up every hour to hour and half. All night long. I did get another cat but that hasn’t helped. I haven’t had a full nights sleep in over a year. Please help!
I am so sorry for your loss and lack of sleep, Jackie.
First, giving your cat plenty of extra attention and affection is essential. Your cat may feel confused and lonely, so spending additional time can help provide comfort.
Creating a safe and comfortable space for your cat can also be helpful. Provide additional warm beds and toys and play relaxing classical music at nighttime, or purchase Pet Tunes, which can help balance behavior issues. Please consult your veterinarian as well.
Finally, be patient and understanding. Grieving is a process that can take a long time for your cat to recover fully. With your love and support, your cat will eventually be able to move forward and find happiness again.
Last year, I wrote an article about How to Help Cats Deal with Grief, which you might also find helpful.
Sending love and healing
