Cat lays in litter box after cleaning

I'm sorry for not getting back to you sooner.

I hope your kitten is fully grown and no longer resting in the litter box.

There could be a few reasons for the behavior:

• Kitten exploratory behavior
• Scent or territorial marking
• Needing a secluded space to rest in
• Attention seeking behavior
• Anxiety-stress related

I wouldn’t worry too much unless she is hiding all the time, is lethargic, is not eating/drinking, or has abnormal elimination habits. In this case, you should consult a vet.  

I hope she is much calmer and more settled in her environment.
