You may love your pet but you probably don’t like cleaning up the vomit, urine and poop they leave behind. Having a cat or dog shouldn’t mean choosing between a clean house and a dirty smelly one.

If you are looking for a pet stain and odor remover TriNova Natural Pet Stain and Odor Remover maybe what you are looking for. This organic “green standard” formula made with a blend of natural enzymes, treats pet stains without the chemical additives featured in other enzyme cleaning products.

Why Enzymatic Cleaners?

There are a lot of different types of cleaners on the market but certain types are better in the area of pet stains and odors.

Enzyme cleaners are one type recommended specifically for pet messes. Enzymatic cleaners also work great on other types of biological messes like blood, vomit, grease, and so much more. Whether you have pets or not, it’s always good to have some type of enzymatic cleaner in the cabinet.

Enzyme cleaners work by breaking down the mess. Spraying it onto a spot, enzymes bind to it and breaks it down. The main difference between these products and a non-enzyme cleaners is bacteria.

The bacteria and enzymes work together to create a natural cleaning solution. Enzymes attach themselves to the staining agent, like urine, feces, or food and break it down. The bacteria will multiply and continue ‘feeding’ on the stain thanks to the work of the enzymes. Eventually, the stain is gone as is the odor.

How To Use?

With any type of cleaner, it needs to be used properly. Most enzyme cleaners come in a spray bottle which means you may have to do some heavy squeezing. Urine and other secretions can go deep, and unless the enzyme cleaner completely saturates it, it won’t work completely. It is recommended with cat urine, the area be soaked and possibly poured over with cleaner.

To treat a fresh spot with enzyme cleaner:

  • Blot up as much of the urine with a towel or rag.
  • Soak the spot area with the enzyme cleaner (recommended you remove the spray nozzle and pour).
  • Let the enzyme cleaner sit on the spot for about 10 to 15 minutes.
  • Blot and soak up as much of the enzyme cleaner as possible.
  • Leave the enzyme cleaner to dry on its own.

You may want to cover the treated area or block it off to help prevent the cat from trying to pee in that spot again. You want the enzymes to do their job while it dries completely. Prevent family members from stepping on the treated area. You may want to lay down aluminum foil, a laundry basket or baking sheets to cover yet allow ventilation of the area.

If you have an old stain you can follow the same steps above. However, an older stain may need to be treated two or three times to get good results.

Do I Recommend It?

I can honestly say it works well on cat and dog urine, as far as removing the stain and the odor. After several days the odor and spot did not come back as it has with other cleaners. Not only did it work well, it left behind a refreshing smell that didn’t smell like a cover up.

What I also really like about this product is that it’s made from 100 percent natural ingredients and does the job without using harsh chemicals. This means no worrying about pets or children when using this product around the house.
