Most of PureBites’ cat treats (as with treats made by other companies) are only meant to be given as supplemental food to your cat’s diet. No matter how good the quality of the treats or their ingredients, treats don’t have all of the nutrients your cat needs for a complete and balanced diet. You can tempt your cat to eat with treats, jazz up his meals, or give him a few snacks between his regular meals, but treats should not replace his normal meals.

PureBites Freeze Dried Cat Treats are one of the company’s most popular treats. If you and your cat like the idea of a treat that is simple and natural, these treats will appeal to you. They contain only one single ingredient. They are available in 13 different flavors.

Looking at PureBites Shrimp Freeze Dried Cat Treats, this treat is made from American-sourced, wild-caught, human-grade shrimp. The shrimp is freeze-dried RAW in the United States. You can feed it as a high value treat or use it as a topper for your cat’s meals.

There’s a lot to like about these freeze dried treats. They are 100 percent natural, high in protein, and low in calories (only 1 calorie per average treat). There are no added colors, fillers, or sweeteners.

Because these treats are natural and without additives, they are a good choice for cats with diabetes or other health issues. Cats on a restricted or limited diet can often enjoy them. Many cats with food allergies and food sensitivities can enjoy them as long as you avoid treats that might be a trigger for your cat.

What Do Customers Think of PureBites Cat Treats?

We found lots of positive customer reviews for PureBites online. There are a few negative reviews but not many.

Positive Reviews

My cat loves your salmon treats as well as the chicken. – Sheralyn, reviewing PureBites Cat Treats

My diabetic cat loves these and it’s kind of shocking as he’s a picky eater. He’ll eat the tuna, white fish, chicken, duck and the salmon ones. – Tim, reviewing PureBites Cat Treats

Negative Reviews

We bought three flavors of Pure bites for our 2 cats and found it a total waste. Neither of them would even licks the product. This happened with all 3 flavors. We have tried other companies and the cats love them. Don’t waste your money. – Karl of Schenectady, NY, reviewing PureBites Cat Treats on Feb. 26, 2021

My son’s girlfriend purchased a 40 gram bag of PureBites freeze dried chicken breast over the holidays. After giving our three cats roughly a third of the bag, I was very surprised to find a packet of silica desiccant in the food. The bag was marked Uline, which is is large packaging firm. This silica gel is not consumable, and therefore poses a potential health risk to a cat, if the bag breaks and the animal ingests it by mistake. I have emailed two complaints to this company, with lot number information, etcetera and have been ignored, other than the automated response that indicates that they will answer back within 24 to 48 hours. Since they seem so proud of having no consumer issues, I would like to make it clear that they in fact, do have issues. – L. of Lasalle, ON, reviewing PureBites Cat Treats on Jan. 21, 2020

How Much Do PureBites Cat Treats Cost?

We found PureBites on Chewy, Amazon, Petsmart, Petco, and HomesAlive in Canada. A bag of PureBites RAW Freeze-Dried Shrimp Cat Treats is about $4.

A case of 12 PureBites 100 Percent Chicken Breast Treats * Mixers is about $16.50. The trays are 1.76 ounces.

A 15-count box of PureBites Squeezables Skin & Coat Cat Food Toppings (2.5 ounce tubes) is about $26.

Overall, Are PureBites Cat Treats a Good Choice?

With human-grade ingredients and no artificial fillers, colors, sweeteners, or preservatives, we think PureBites cat treats look like good options for your cat. We also like the fact that the company offers them in a variety of formats – toppers, mixers, squeezables, RAW freeze-dried, along with pates and broths.

We do note that there were several negative comments online from people who said they found desiccant packets in their treats (to reduce moisture). This does pose a problem if your cat should happen to rip open a bag of treats and eat the packet so we hope this problem has been fixed.

There are a lot of different treats right now as mixers, toppers, and squeezables but not all of them have such high quality ingredients. PureBites seems most similar to Whole Life cat foods and treats.

How Do You Order PureBites Cat Treats?

PureBites cat treats are available through leading North American pet specialty stores such as Petco and PetSmart. You can find them on Chewy.com and Amazon.com. They are also available in neighborhood pet stores throughout Canada and the United States and in other countries.

I have been giving my cat about a tsp of Chibani Greek plain low fat yogurt a day to give my cat more liguid in his diet, because he eats dry food. He is a long haired
Cat. He’s been experiencing dry itchy skin in the winter. I bought the Purebites
squeezable food topper for dry skin. Not only does he love it, his skin isn’t itchy
any more. I’m just wondering if I should stop giving him yogurt and just give him
    the Purebites.

It seems like your cat is doing perfectly fine with both Purebites and yogurt, but if you’re concerned that it’s too many calories, you can certainly cut back on the yogurt. Whatever works for both of you!

Your purebite freeze dried salmon is the best.my cats love it and it’s very healthy.the price is very costly however.any coupons would be a blessing for me and I am sure other people as well.thank you god bless

Thank you so much for this review. I was drawn to the PureBites brand because of they offered treats that have simple ingredient lists (just two or three!). I know my cat likes the topper treats, and readily eats their catnip infused freeze dried chicken treats.
I would love if you could do a review of their line of freeze dried food! They offer for cats a chicken recipe raw freeze dried food. So far my cat seems to prefer dry kibble over this, but she does still eat it all if fed mixed with some wet food.
